Inter-railing City 5:

Budapest is an amazing place, hands down my favourite so far. Even the train station was phenomenally designed.
It was incredibly warm for the whole time we were there, so we thought we’d take the chance to climb the hill that overlooked the city. The climb didn’t take long and was definitely worth it for the beautiful views, which were genuinely breathtaking. Upon later research I’ve discovered it’s called Gellert Hill.
Whilst in the main part of Budapest we got the chance to visit the massive market hall. With rows and rows of stalls selling everything from traditional Hungarian souvenirs to fresh meet and fish. The massive indoor multi-storey market was a bit of a maze but definitely a must see.
Our little airbnb apartment was further out of the sit but by complete coincidence was on what was supposedly the busiest little tourist alleyway in the city. The little pushed back road was buzzing through the day with pop up market stalls selling knick-knacks and some amazing pieces of art. Come night fall, the length of the alley was lit with fairy lights and each little coffee shop had transformed into a cocktail bar.
One thing I do regret is not going to the tradition baths, we simply ran out of time. But I will definitely be going back to Budapest because I do think we missed a lot that we needed to see.
