Benicassim

Our trip to Benicassim was for Festival Internacional de Benicassim, or FIB. The festival runs for 4 days but we made a holiday of it and had a few days either side of the festival.

We arrived on the Monday, and our first few days were spent relaxing and just doing nothing of importance. But the travelling, we all had mixed emotions about the travelling. I mean how hard can getting 13, rather drunk, people through the airport. We were THAT group of people on the back bus being loud and annoying.

Anyway, our hotel was alright. The staff didn't speak any English, but it was just a base camp. We spent our days on the beach, and spent our nights in the local clubs, Tabu was a group favourite.

The festival itself was brilliant, the line up was brilliant too, Kasabian, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foals, and the Weeknd. The acts start in the evening around 8, with the headliners on close to midnight. With the DJs on after we ended up at the arena until 6am, then we stumbled back down the road to pass out in our beds.

The festival finished Sunday night, but it worked out cheaper to stay in Barcelona for a night and then fly Tuesday afternoon. We stayed in the Barcelona Airport Hotel, very standard airport hotel, but it was genuinely bliss to us. A gorgeous pool (no salt water!), king-sized beds (not two twins pushed together!),  and air conditioning! we loved it.

The music festival is similar to all I've been to. Overpriced drinks, all the different types of food you can think of, and drunk people everywhere. Everything you want from summer. And waking up each morning, extremely hungover surrounded by the best people, stumbling to the beach then off to an evening of music. Honestly, I couldn't recommend it enough.

about The Page

I'm aiming to make a site for the average person, for those less able to give up everything and see the world, but still want to. I'm here to display all the places I've been and probably bore you a bit with my life and naff photography.
