Paris
Inter-railing City 12
This is it, final stop on our little tour of Europe. We could stop panicking about money as much and just enjoy the last little bit. And we did as much touristy stuff our legs could take. First stop; Eiffel Tower. When you go to the Eiffel Tower they give you two options you can either go half way up, or to the top. The obvious choice is to the top, and I'd definitely recommend it because the view from up there is incredible, you can see so much of Paris. Part of my wishes we'd gone up in the evening so we can appreciate the "City of Lights".
We also took a stroll up the Champs-Élysées. This is the long road full of fancy shops which ends with the Arc de Triomphe. At the opposite end you come across a park, Jardin de Tuileries, which is full of intricate fountains and it's so peaceful. When you eventually get through the park, which took us ages due to the views, you reach the Louvre. Now that's one thing I am disappointed about missing out on, we didn't go into the Louvre and see the Miss Lisa.
In Paris, I had the chance to meet up with an old friend Diane, who showed me round with her lovely friend Aude what Paris is like as a local. Aside from seeing Diane, I had my first chance to actually explore on my own, I went off to the Picasso museum as well as wandering the other parts of Paris.
So that was that. We finished and survived, 35 days, 23 trains, 12 cities, 9 countries, 5 idiots and 72 hours worth of train travel, and I'd 100% do it over.
