Oslo
So, myself and a course mate Dylan were both having withdrawals from not travelling in so long and the flights to Oslo were super cheap, so we decided, why not.
So in the April, we headed out on a 4am flight. It was still very wintery and cold this time of year, (so maybe going to the botanical garden was a bit ambitious) but it was beautiful.
We did all the stereotypical things, including the viking museum which was brilliant. There they had two full viking ships with all sorts of information and other artefacts. I actually learnt a lot about the vikings, and the museum was very well looked after.
Upon buying the ticket for the viking museum, you also got free entry to the historical museum within 48 hours. This museum is potentially one of the best I've been to, with a whole range of time periods being displayed.
The pair of us did loads of walking and general exploring. For a big city, Oslo has lots of sculpture parks and they're beautiful. Whilst we were there in there was still loads of snow, which just added to the beauty.
I would recommend Oslo to anyone but it isn't cheap. We knew this before going though, which is why we planned to do a lot of the free things around the city, like the parks. Like any major city I've been to, take your student ID, most museums offer a student discount.
